In one month Hann
ah Banana will graduate from high school. 13 years of a classical Christian education will have built each upon the other to provide the platform from which she will, God willing, launch a college career. Lisa and I are very proud of the hard work and determination she demonstrated to get to this place. God has blessed her with acceptance into the Ida V. Moffett School of Nursing at Samford University. Recently Hannah wrote an essay for an scholarship essay competition that captures well how she sees the opportunity that she believes God has set before her through the privilege of education; in less than 300 words she summarized a hopeful view that encourages me to believe that she will thrive in a college atmosphere.
Go here to read it–and please vote for her essay; the deadline is today and finalists are chosen by popular vote. The first place reward is $10,000. Even if she doesn’t win this scholarship, I am so very proud that she is my daughter–and that she sees the world this way.
Just voted. Lovely girl and a great essay. I know y’all are proud.
Thank you, Jimmy! I hope y’all are treating Caralie Tait well–we sure miss her down here.
Just read the Mirrors to Windows essay and voted for it. Hannah is a beautiful, talented, intelligent young lady and I’m sure she will continue turning Mirrors into Windows as she launches her college career.
Thank you, George!
I voted for her today, too. I know this is a bittersweet time for y’all, but it sounds like you all have an exciting future ahead. Congratulations to Hannah!
